Shehbaz Badesha Faces Backlash in Bigg Boss 19 for Mentioning Sidharth Shukla’s Fans

Shehbaz Badesha, the brother of Shehnaaz Gill and a contestant on Bigg Boss 19, recently sparked a major controversy with his comments about the late Sidharth Shukla and his fan base, known as the Sidhearts.

During a Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Shehbaz Badesha confidently claimed that Sidharth Shukla's fans were supporting him and that he had the backing of the winner’s fan following. In a conversation with music composer Amaal Mallik, Shehbaz said, “Mujhe Bigg Boss 19 ke nomination me ane do, dekhte hain fir kya hota hai,” to which Amaal replied, “Ayenge sab...” but it was Shehbaz’s next line that ignited widespread backlash: “Sidharth ke fan baithe hain bahar mere saath. Jo winner hai na iss show ka, mere saath fan following baithi hai uski.”.​

This statement did not sit well with the Sidhearts. Many fans took to social media platforms like X (Twitter) and Instagram to express their anger and disappointment. They accused Shehbaz Badesha of exploiting Sidharth Shukla’s legacy for personal gain and attention. Comments flooded in, calling Shehbaz overconfident and accusing him of using the late actor’s name inappropriately. One fan bluntly said, “Does he really believe that Sidharth Shukla fans are voting and supporting him? Gadha kahin ka!” Another stated, “Why is he taking legend Sidharth Shukla’s name? He’s not even 1% of him.”.​

Shehbaz Badesha however, seemed unfazed by the backlash and declared that he would not be affected by negative comments. In earlier interviews, he had openly mentioned Sidharth Shukla and how he plans to use the emotional connection in the Bigg Boss 19 house as strength.

Shehbaz Badesha claimed to have predicted his entry and expressed determination to win, stating that Sidharth would want him to succeed. Despite this, many viewers feel he is merely capitalizing on the late star’s popularity to gain sympathy and votes.​

The controversy has added yet another layer of drama to Bigg Boss 19, fueling discussions on social media. Fans emphasize their loyalty to Sidharth Shukla and assert they will not support anyone who appears to misuse his memory.
